Job Description

Responsible for the overall operations of the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Director actively participates with the hospital leaders in designing and proving human resources needs and services.

Develops and implements hospital wide policies and ensure compliance with policies and laws affecting coworkers. Develops goals and objectives for the Human Resource department and initiates specific programs in the various functions of the department for recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training. Leads efforts to maintain positive coworker relations including resolving coworker issues and concerns related to any protected class or compliance matters prior to need for general counsel/legal intervention. Oversees the development and management of the department budget. Responsible for over sight of the Employee Health Department. Performs all functions in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of OSUMC.

Knowledge of the principles of management and supervision, Human Resources practices, and applicable personnel laws and regulations. Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of persons, including Medical Staff, Board Members, community and hospital personnel. Significant responsibility for financial assets, especially in the management of man-hours and other budgeted expenses. Must demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leade4rship in anticipating, delegating. Reports to CFO.
